ADRIANT, a leading French company, specialises in research and sensory marketing concerning the relationship between the consumer and consumer products. The company was founded in 1984 by the current international development and research manager Huguette Nicod. ADRIANT has been a part of the SILLIKER group since 2001. The SILLIKER group is a world-wide net of laboratories working on quality assurance and safety, focussing principally on the field of agricultural and food products.

The main headquarters of ADRIANT is in Nantes, with branches in Paris, Lyon, and Verrières-le-Buisson (near Paris), France. In 2000, the first subsidiary was founded in Warsaw, Poland.

The company has a permanent staff of 30 employees with professional backgrounds - e.g. marketing, food engineering, social psychology, and statistics. ADRIANT supports and advises its clients concerning marketing strategies and the development of methods used to analyse and define the sensory criteria which help to position a product in the market.

Working with experts and with both naive and trained consumer panels, ADRIANT offers a broad spectrum of methodological approaches, e.g.

  • quantitative methods: products tests, use tests, sensory profiling, screening tests, consumer segmentation
  • qualitative studies: observation of consumer behaviour, motivational studies, ethnological studies
  • specific research: preference mapping, sensory trade-off (the selection of the optimum product-mix among the different combinations of sensory and non-sensory factors), perceptive mapping.

ADRIANT covers the most important regions in France and makes regular use of its contacts on the international level to realise cross-border studies. As one of the first enterprises specialising in sensory evaluation, it has widened its spectrum far beyond foods to include such sectors as household products, cosmetics, chemicals, packaging, textiles, automobiles, etc.
