ESN cocktail event at Pangborn 2023
Are you just getting started in your career and would like to know more about how you can really influence the people you work with rather than just do your day job? Then maybe you should keep reading ...

Come along and take part in our first interactive learning module run by ESN industry partners and ESN members. Be prepared to get fully involved, no passive participation allowed, and wear your trainers. This is not sitting around listening, this is - literally - learning on our feet! When the hard work is done, and you have levelled up to “influencer”, we will share our thoughts and experiences together over cocktails (alcohol-free options are available) and canapés, like true professionals!
There is more than one way to learn, and we hope you will agree afterwards that this is one of the better ways!
Why? Learn How to Share Your Knowledge. Create impactful presentations by understanding what your audience needs and what they don’t need. Many audiences do not care about the detail of the science or the technical excellence of your outputs. What they need to know is how your research insights inform (business) decisions.
In a Nutshell. What is the key message from your research when you only have 5 minutes to share? Why should the audience listen to you? What difference are you making to the business/science? You need to be able to sell yourself and your ideas! Registration Criteria. Numbers are limited to 50 registered participants to ensure you get the most out of the experience.
We welcome registrations if:
- you are in your final year of your PhD studies; or
- you are a Post Doc researcher, ideally with some connections with industry;or
- you have fewer than 5 years of experience working in Industry and/or a Sensory Agency.
